At The Rec we host a range of classes and sports in the sports hall that are available to join. Our current Sports Hall activities include:

FITNESS CLASSES WITH JULIE TOWNER

Our fitness trainer, Julie Towner, provides a range of fitness classes from The Rec with all new equipment for a variety of sessions. Classes can be booked directly through Julie, or through her website, which can be found on www.julietowner.co.uk

Pickleball

Pickleball sessions have been established this year at The Rec, and as it has taken off as a worldwide sport, it has certainly taken up in Copmanthorpe & surroundings areas. Our sessions are run by Keith primarily, and has become an extremely social sport open to all ages. Sessions are £2 a person for a 1 1/2 hour session.

Monday: 13:30 - 15:00

Tuesday: 19:00 - 20:30

Wednesday: 10:00 - 11:30 & 13:30 - 15:00

Friday: 13:30 - 15:00

Badminton

Badminton matches and training sessions take place twice weekly in the sports hall. They are mixed teams, so anyone is welcome to join. The Badminton club is run separately to The Rec - so for further details please contact Copbadders@gmail.com .

Table Tennis

The Rec is home to Table Tennis Club Shiyi Ling who play from starter level up to The British League. The club has training and match evenings twice weekly - and anyone of any ability is welcome to join. For more information please contact David on 0779038520

Saturday: 10:30 - 12:30 Training

U3A Table Tennis sessions are also run from The Rec. These provide sports activities for those not in full time work as an opportunity for socialising and exercising. All equipment is provided for these sessions. For more information please contact John on 01904 621557

Netball

Netball sessions take place indoors in the sports hall as opposed to on the tennis courts in the winter months, and is aimed at aged 11 upwards. For more information please contact Copmanthorpenetball@gmail.com

Football Fun Factory

Football Fun Factory run a kids football session weekly with a range of football team building and co-ordination skill building activities. For more information please contact Calum at Calum@thefootballfunfactory.co.uk

Cop FC Girls Football Training

Like netball, football training sessions are held indoors at our sports hall over the winter months for the Girls’ U10s football. More information can be found by emailing paullockervw@hotmail.com

Perform WITH EMMA BASSETT DANCE

Karate

Karate sessions have been running successfully at The Rec from the start of 2023. There is a kid’s karate class run as well as an all ages class, which including teaching, training and grading.
